Freedom & Faeries

Ive been working in my moleskine the last couple of days and trying out shading tangles and just playing with a wee whimsical faery idea.
The faeries were made using watercolour pencil, collage and fine liners.  I had great fun with this spread.

Sketchbook Stuff

 I was playing in my sketchbook yesterday and played around with a face and tangled my hand.  It was fun to find time just to play again after working so hard on exhibition stuff last week.

 

Lemons Quote

Yesterday I also worked more on my pen series of whimsical girls and with a quote.  I am enjoying zentangling at the moment as its so relaxing and keeps me really calm and in the zen space lol.

Live, Love, Laugh

I was playing around with a new pen (a sharpie fine liner) Last night and the muse brought me an interesting whimsy girl.  I hadnt used pen cross-hatching or stipple technique for years. So I thought I'd have a go with this piece. This drawing also holds all my hopes for my relationship with my hubby.

Tangling & Whimsy

Yesterday my friends little girl, Naimh came over to learn how to draw some tangles and a whimsy girl.  We had such fun together.  When she went home I played some more myself and came up with this tangle and whimsy girl in my A5 sketchbook.  Such fun!

Tangling some more

I had another play last night and tried out the blender pen with my promarkers.  I think I need lots more practise but I'm having a blast and quite happy with the results.

Tangle Time

Ive been practising my tangle patterns  in colour.  I got some lovely new promarkers from Santa.  They are so lovely to use.  I had fun creating this  tangle garden.  Zentangling is so relaxing, you find yourself getting lost in the patterns.

Zentangled Portrait

This profile was produced with my new promarkers.  It was so much fun to zentangle,  its one of the most relaxing forms of art that I have gotten into.

Practising Some More

I practised another profile for Fabulous Faces in my sketchbook.  I hope to get around to painting this sketch soon too.

 

I got a lovely new Zentangle book for Christmas, yeah I opened it up early lol.  I spent a couple of happy relaxing hours last night doodling whilst watching/listening to the tv and came up with this doodled garden.
